Radio 357: 15,000 transactions through Easycart in just 10 days

A community initiative with a huge impact

Radio 357 is a modern radio and podcast platform, brought to life and sustained by the support of its listeners. The monthly contributions from Patrons not only keep the radio station afloat but also fuel its growth and keep it ad-free. In late September 2022, just before its anniversary, Radio 357 decided to harness the power of its community and give back to the world by… planting a forest.

And so, the Las 357 initiative was born. In collaboration with the Las na Zawsze Foundation, the project aimed to gather donations to plant a symbolic 3.57 hectares of forest. The chosen location was Suchowola - a place that once flourished as a forest but had since lost its green cover.

Participants could join the cause by purchasing a symbolic square meter of forest for 8 PLN, and then roll up their sleeves to help plant it. It quickly became apparent that the Radio 357 community was not just willing to plant more forest than initially envisaged, but also eager to descend upon Suchowola to collectively bring their shared vision to life.

15,000 Transactions in 10 Days

The initial campaign goal of raising funds to plant 3.57 hectares of forest was smashed in just 3 days. Without missing a beat, the Radio 357 team decided to up the ante - first doubling the goal, and then simply allowing listeners to continue contributing towards additional square meters.

Pulling off such an initiative called for a flexible payment processing solution, one that could simultaneously accommodate hundreds of users and handle tens of thousands of transactions over a few days. After sifting through the options on the market, the Radio 357 team chose to run the campaign in partnership with Easycart.

The payment process, built on Easycart, kicked off on the campaign page. Here, users chose the number of square meters of forest they wanted to plant or the amount they wished to donate towards the campaign. To wrap up the payment, participants passed through the Radio 357 login gateway, which then redirected them straight to a shopping cart created in Easycart. With a variety of modern payment methods at their disposal and the ability to complete transactions with a single click, making a payment was as simple, quick, and hassle-free as it could be.

As a result, within just 10 days of the campaign, Easycart helped Radio 357 process a staggering 15,000 transactions.

Covering a whopping 106,450 square meters of natural glory

The campaign’s reach blew Radio 357 creators’ minds. In just 10 days, over 13,000 people jumped onboard, raising enough to plant a whopping 106,450 square meters of forest. Following this huge success, Radio 357 coordinated community efforts over two seasons, which concluded in April 2023, leading to the establishment of four new forest areas.
